Stepping Up Summit 2017

Six Steps: Tools and Resources to Get There

September 28, 2017

About the Conference

The 2nd annual Stepping Up Ohio Summit brings together counties, stakeholders and other supporters who have made a commitment to reduce the number of people with mental illness cycling in and out of the jail system. The toll incarceration takes on these individuals and their families, as well as the costs assumed by taxpayers, is staggering. Jails have become de facto in-patient psychiatric facilities across the nation. At this conference, you will get an opportunity to hear from national and state officials about the impact the Stepping Up Initiative is having to date. In addition, a range of counties in Ohio will offer support and advice while reporting on their successes, challenges and best practices.

Who Should Attend?

We encourage participation from each county in Ohio that has formed a Stepping Up Initiative, as well as legislators, stakeholders, and those interested in joining the movement. Space is limited, so if you are part of your county's Stepping Up team, contact your county lead. County leads are responsible for signing up all members of their team.
